Being Open-Minded Is An Art In Itself

Let’s say you have been living an entire life having a heavy cereal breakfast, so much that it becomes your truth. And you have always felt healthy with the way you have been living. The day you come to know about intermittent fasting that you could actually skip breakfast, you might laugh at that fact first. Later when you listen to the logic behind it, you find it disturbing because it is going against what you have always been believing.

It’s ironical that although we hate when people lie to us, we always want ‘the truth and nothing but the truth’, our first reaction to truth is one of hostility and fear. It’s because we want people to repeat what we have already known to be the ‘truth’, but actually that’s our interpretation of the truth.

The real truth is so vast, much like the sand on all the coasts of the world and we are holding tightly to the sand in our fist.

Truth is very bold and in your face, it is way bigger than our bias or limited translations.

It’s important to have an open mind regarding almost everything in life. When something new comes along our way, let’s have a calm mind and face it with logic, reasoning and with an eye that see being the confinements of what we have known. It is possible that it doesn’t make sense and we don’t have to accept this new fact as the truth ultimately. But initially we just need to lower our guard to have the open-mindedness to see things from a broader perspective.
